What is the Village Lawyer (Maeul Byeonhosa) system?
A public-interest program run by Korea's Ministry of Justice and the Korean Bar Association since 2013. Residents of underserved areas with no nearby lawyer can get free legal consultation by phone, fax or email from a volunteer lawyer assigned to their town.
Is the consultation free?
Yes. Village Lawyer consultations are free; volunteer lawyers donate their time to advise residents on everyday legal matters.
